Taking A Break

Taking A Break

Hello Nursery Ministry Leaders!  I pray that the last few months have not been too overwhelming for you.  I would love to hear about your progress in making your nursery ministry more effective and to hear first hand your experience with the steps we have been going through the last few months. I encourage you to email me and share with others as well.  If you are having trouble tackling the tasks at hand, I can relate.

Have you been so busy working on your role as parent, employee, friend, family member,  ministry leader, and teacher that you have forgotten to “feed” yourself spiritually?  It is easy to get so wrapped up in responsibilities we can forget to really connect with our Lord.  So this month we are taking a break from the “administrative” side of making our nurseries more effective and focusing on making “ourselves” more effective.  In order for us to be effective leaders (as well as parents, employees, friends, ect.), we must take the time to engage in the Bible, interact with God, and continue in daily prayer.  That is what I want us all to do this month.  If it has been some time since you have been in the sanctuary for a sermon, get the sermon notes or ask someone to fill in for you in the nursery ministry.

Take some time to reconnect with God and other adults in the church.  Get refreshed and renewed in the word. Read the Bible. Do some devotionals.  If we take care of ourselves spiritually, we will be more effective nursery ministry leaders.  That is your assignment for the month.  There are great resources available online designed for busy people.  Sign up for free devotionals sent directly to your email.  I want to share something I found that touched me deeply when researching for this article.  I have listed just a couple below.  Follow the links and read.  They are not time consuming.  They will “feed” you.  Enjoy!  Be blessed in your time with the Lord this month.

A Bible Devotion on being a Living Sacrifice: Have you ever considered God has placed you here, in these circumstances, to be used in a marvelous way for Him?  Paul declares in Romans 12:1, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship."

The Invisible Mom:  God sees the invisible mom!  Whether we're a mom or not, there is something to be said about being invisible.

In Matthew 6:3-4, Jesus says: "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
